Cooler Than Me
5 tips for keeping a cool head in summer
Hooray - summer is here! With these temperatures, you just want to go to a lake or a swimming pool and spend the whole day there, don't you? If only it weren't for our work or other small everyday duties that we have to attend to. To help you get through the day, today we have 5 tips on how to stay cool despite the hot temperatures!
Tip no. 1: Fashion must-have: Airy!
Airy clothing is the be-all and end-all. Preferably even made of linen or thin cotton and not synthetics! These fabrics are nice and breathable and don't constrict you. They make you feel fit and balanced straight away... don't they?
Tip no. 2: Water march!
Sounds obvious, but it's not! We have a few tips for you on how to cool water down properly. It's best to drink it just below room temperature and not ice cold. This is because your body needs extra energy to heat the cold water to body temperature. This actually makes you sweat more!
Tip no. 3: Sprayin' me softly
Do you still have an old spray bottle lying around at home? Perfect! Once washed out, you can use it perfectly as a refresher between uses. Simply fill it up with water and spray your face and décolleté. You can also store the bottle in the fridge for an extra boost of freshness. How fresh is that?
Tip no. 4: Hot water bottle is your new BF
Oh yes, you heard right! If a hot water bottle keeps you warm with hot water, then it keeps you cool with ice-cold water. Makes sense, doesn't it? Simply fill a small hot water bottle with cold water and leave it in the fridge for about 2 hours... Don't be confused if your colleagues look funny at first, but once you've tried it, they won't give the cool bottle back so easily...
Tip no. 5: Swipe to the right (food)
Fruit and vegetables are simply perfect at lunchtime. They provide minerals and vitamins and also have a high water content. This way, you won't feel so tired after your lunch break in hot temperatures, as your body doesn't need all the energy to digest it. Try a light Fancy Little Meal from the app with summery fruit or a crisp salad from the Mixed Meal section. Happy Swiping!
