5 possible reasons why you're not losing weight.
Hey OFFSET babe! Is your weight stagnating despite sticking to the plan or is everything going tutti palletti? Don't stress, we're here for you! Here are 5 + 1 reasons why your weight may stagnate and why this is completely normal.
Reason no. 1: Too high a calorie deficit
"Skipping a meal or eating a low carb diet will increase my success, won't it?" Not really. In fact, quite the opposite! Too high a calorie deficit prevents you from losing weight and can quickly lead to the yo-yo effect after the plan.
Reason no. 2: Strength training
A little sport never hurts? Not quite! Diet without exercise can be effective, but unfortunately exercise without good nutrition is not. Watch out, trap! After a sweat-inducing sports session, we often feel really hungry. On top of that, we feel like we can indulge in chocolate again. One workout after another: Losing weight, reducing fat and building muscle at the same time is simply too much at once and ends in hunger pangs, a feeling of fullness and frustration.
Reason no. 3: Too many snacks
A little cucumber or carrot in between doesn't hurt! But be careful what you snack on. Many small snacks contain lots of small calories that can quickly slow down your progress.
Reason no. 4: Water retention
Weight fluctuations are completely normal. Don't be so hard on yourself. Water retention can have many different causes, such as your period, heat or too salty food. To avoid making yourself feel insecure, you can also weigh yourself every 3-4 days or take your measurements.
Reason no. 5: Too little water
Your metabolism is boosted considerably during the OFFSET plan. In order for your body to burn fat cells, it also needs a lot of water. Drinking plenty of water is always important and helps your body with digestion and is even good for your skin!
And very importantly:
Please also remember that every body is different. Even if you do everything right, it can happen that you suddenly seem to have stopped losing weight. Sometimes it can also be that your body is simply taking time to get used to its new weight before moving on. Don't be too hard on yourself and don't let this discourage you. If you keep at it, this too will pass and suddenly it will "slip" again :P. A little tip: Don't weigh yourself every day and take your body measurements to double check.
